The majority of people who watch them are men in their late teens to early 30s. Now it may not be the best thing for families but it's the demographic this film is geared towards and having it play during something like the NBA playoffs is great advertising for the film and great money for the NBA. Most of the movies I like usually get between a 5 and 7 out of 10 on imdb and between 50 and 70 on RT. I agree that horror series do get stale rather fast.
